Commissions

One of the things I hear often is: "Do you take commissions?"

The short answer is YES! If that answer suits, contact me. If you'd like more details, read on...

We will work together—it's a very collaborative process. Flexibility is important to me, both for my own creative freedom, as well as your ultimate choice and satisfaction.

To begin, you'll look at the paintings (like Contraptions, Garden, Trees). on my website and we'll talk about style and subject matter. This is also the time for you to supply reference pictures of subject matter, or pictures of the space where you will hang the painting. We'll decide on size and other details.

Then I'll begin by drawing a few versions of the composition (see examples below) - you choose your favorite from the drawings—this is a good time to talk and change things slightly if either of us have a good idea.

Next, I'll paint several versions, and ultimately you have the choice to pick from all completed paintings.

Within the criteria we decide on, this gives me the freedom to create - to follow different paths as the paintings unfold.

Policies: (The Fine Print)

Schedule: I only take on one commission at a time, so that you get my creative energy for your project. When we set up the commission, I will give you an idea of the schedule.

Deposit: I require a 25% non-refundable* deposit so that I can invest in the materials needed, and dedicate time to create your piece.

Balance: Pay upon completion. If you are ultimately not satisfied with your painting, you may use the non-refundable deposit for a painting of similar size.
